Richard Boren (L) with Jay Snelson following Snelson’s last lecture, October 22, 2011

The sad and dramatic end of Jay Snelson’s business and personal relationship with Galambos did not deter Snelson from his quest to find things that would improve the lot of mankind. Jay was a deep thinker, and a gentleman in the truest sense. His final lecture was given on October 22, 2011 in San Diego, CA, at an event called Libertopia. He had suffered from a terminal illness for several years, and passed away on December 21, 2011.

The lecture was titled, "Win-Win Theory on Unifying Science, Economics, and Religion," which was the subject of his posthumously-published book, Taming the Violence of Faith: Win-Win Solutions for Our World in Crisis. For those of you who had the pleasure of attending Jay's V-50  or Human Action lectures, I can say that his presence at the podium was as powerful as ever, and his overall presentation was just as good as anything I ever heard him deliver. The transcript of that last lecture is here: http://www.suscivinst.com/about/

I had secured a seat in the front row, and when I saw that no one was preparing to shoot video I grabbed my camera and captured almost the entire lecture, with what I think are acceptable results. (Better than nothing to be sure.) There is some difficulty with the sound synchronization, and if anyone can tell me how to fix it, please do. It's in two parts because the camera's memory card filled up and I had to insert a new one, losing perhaps a minute of the talk in the process.
